5 Reasons You Should Not Get EC-Council’s® Certified Ethical Hacker® (CEH®) Certification
It’s expensive!
- In order to qualify to take the CEH®v11 exam, you must have experience.
- If you don’t have experience, you will have to purchase official training, which is expensive.
You think you will be some big shot elite hacker just by passing the exam.
- The CEH® certification is a knowledge test. To get hand on training you would need to get the CEH® Practical, which you can only cert after getting the CEH®.
You are looking to just get started in cybersecurity as entry level.
- This is not an entry-level certification! A more appropriate certification for a newbie is CompTIA® Security+® and then CySA+®.
You are not willing to work damn hard.
- Did I forget to mention that this test is hard? It’s no cakewalk even for experienced infosec pros with years of experience.
- Experienced pros often fail the exam several times even with studying!
You don’t want to pursue ethical hacking as a career path.
- Unless you want to be on an actual Red Team as a pen tester, you may want to steer clear of this exam.
